Wow, that sucks! Sounds like the plastic chrome is the least of your worries. My guess is that you get a lot of chips in the paint too if your windshield goes that fast. I guess a clear bra would especially beneficial in your part of the world.

Think alot depends upon you locale. In this corner of the world we have alot of Grid Roads that are gravel covered and when a vehicles exit the grid road on to the pavement you don't want to behind them with the plastic chrome. If your lucky your windshied may last you a year, just my 02 bin der done dat.
