08 Fuel Gauge Calibration
(Preview)
There have been discussions about the 7th gen fuel gauge calibration. What are observations for the 8th gen? I noticed that it drops fairly slowly to the 1/2 mark. After that it speeds up. Then it slows down again and hangs at the 1/8 mark. The needle sits there for a few days barely touching the red line n...

Toyota Camry and Avalon
(Preview)
I'm thinking that the coupe is mentioned simply because it's the car that they tested. Similarly, they listed the BMW 335i coupe that uses the same engine as the 335i and 535i sedans. The 2.0 FSI listed in the Audi A3 is also used in the TT and VW GTI and, in logitudinal layout, in the A4 and Passat. The 3.5 l...

how different the two cars are
(Preview)
I'm thinking maybe they are talking about the manual coupe. When I got my car (an automatic) the dealer was going on and on about how different the two cars are, and how the manual has a totally different personality. I think he mentioned that the two have different engine codes.

HIDs on the car
(Preview)
Sorry to burst your bubble, there are no HIDs on the car, but I am certainly going to get it. It looks as if there is HIDs because I've changed the white balance so that the yellow looks white (same explanation for why you see BLUE in my RSX picture).

My New Baby! :)
(Preview)
2 days ago, I just parted with my 2003 RSX Premium which I had for over 4 years and picked up a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6MT. Totally 2 different cars, but both great and a lot of fun. The RSX will be missed, but gotta transfer that love to my new baby Accord.

Options
(Preview)
New to the site... I'm considering getting a new 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 AT (no MTs available anymore) at one of the local Honda dealers. Unfortunately the Honda website only shows the options you can get with the new 2008 model. Is there anywhere where I can find all the dealer options available on th...

The new Accord in Polished Metal Metallic is different
(Preview)
I know what color you are talking about regarding the Toyota. I wanted to buy a new Camry SE in that magnetic gray metallic. I love how it looks on the Camry. Unfortunately, that car has 6-speed automatic transmission problems, so I didn't buy it.The new Accord in Polished Metal Metallic is different....

Polished Metal Metallic is a new color
(Preview)
I'm pretty sure Polished Metal Metallic is a new color, because Honda has never used this name before. The closest previous color (probably the gray you're referring to) to the Polished Metal is Graphite Pearl. One being a metallic paint, and the other pearl, they are pretty distinguishable in vary...

Celica as the better overall car
(Preview)
That 2008 Coupe is VERY nice and I'd pick it over the Celica as the better overall car. But I still can't stand the pedestrian-impact-friendly chunky front end of the '08 Accord, especially compared to the uber-sleek nose of the Celica. And why cant the front hood line meet the grill? Why the needless e...

2008 Accord has the best interior Honda currently offers
(Preview)
Wise choice! lol I preferred the Ivory color because the interior should not get so hot in the summer. Plus I think the 2008 Accord has the best interior Honda currently offers, and the light Ivory color makes it very visible. But I admit the black interior looks wicked.

local dealerships
(Preview)
Thanks. Your coupe looks sinister in black. I'd like to see a new coupe in white, but unfortunately none have showed up at local dealerships. I saw a Belize blue pearl coupe at a dealership and it looks stunning. In the sun, the metal-flake paint really catches the eye.

Digital Pictures of my 6-speed Accord Coupe
(Preview)
Here are some pictures of my 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 6-speed coupe taken with a digital camera. Picture quality is much better than the earlier pictures I posted. The 2005 Toyota Celica GTS poses with the 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6. Notice how aggressive the Accord front end is compared to the Celica....

Toyota body with a 350 Chevy engine
(Preview)
A friend had a "toylet"... it was a boxy looking white Toyota body with a 350 Chevy engine. It could climb anything!!! He loved that thing. He didn't like me naming it a "toilet" though!! I had to struggle to climb in it.

"can't see into the bed FROM the cab".....
(Preview)
Way back when you could get LARGE coupes.... thus the Olds 442 & the like! It was the same length as a full size long bed Chevy truck. I won't tell the Ridgeline that it's not a "real" truck. It thinks it is.... it does as much as the old Chevy did with it's beefed up 3/4 tonage & 454 engine...

Toyota Rav4 Limited V6. Fast, fun to drive, maneuverable and roomy. Hate the rear side-opening door with spare tire. With that, I would have to pass. Perfection would be a Honda CRV EXL-V6. Would buy one tomorrow. Had my hopes set to buy an Infiniti EX35 next year, but it turns out it is way too small and h...

08 EX-L owners: what model does your VIN indicate on carfax.com?
(Preview)
My sales guy just called - my car has been built! He gave me the VIN # and I looked it up on carfax.com and for some reason it says it is a "2008 HONDA ACCORD EX" when it is supposed to be an EX-L. I looked up some other VIN #s I found on random dealer websites from EX-L V6 sedans and they also only say EX...

2008 Accord is the Acura TL
(Preview)
Well, I think it comes across as a bit classier when you recognize that the inspiration for the deep character line on the 2008 Accord is the Acura TL, not the Hyundai Accent. If you look at the side views of all 3 cars at the same time, you'll see that the Accord's character line is a slight variation of the...

Honda owners are suffering from low self-esteem
(Preview)
Sigh... hopefully you realize that a similar amateur "diagnosis" that gen 7 owners are suffering from low self-esteem is exactly the implication being made by gen 8 owners when they claim that gen 7 owners are attacking the gen 8 because they're jealous. So I guess if so many of these Honda...

The 2008 just has a deep gash (strangely executed) to call attention
(Preview)
The Gen7 has been criticized so much for the last 5 years that I almost wet myself in laughter when I see 8Genners get all "oh no you didn't!!" on their precious rides. I really think these people who tell those who don't care for their car's styling to just "shut up", or "go aw...

"new and cool" with it's ugly grill
(Preview)
I agree. In the nicest way possible, I don't like the 8th gen..at all. I'm not bashing and I'm not jealous. I could have bought an 08 if I had wanted one. I didn't care for the LED tails on the 06-07's and I like the all red 05 tails better. That's why I bought it. Not because it's "new and cool" with...

safety criteria

I wanted to use the woman comparison. Then I started thinking about the Accord compared to a woman. I went down hill from there. One of our posters mentioned. The pedestrian safety stuff concerning the new Accord. While I believe some of this is a contributing factor. The fact still remains. The 8th Ge...

Toyota Corola
(Preview)
It will grow on you. I thought the new Jetta and Passat were blatant copies of a Toyota Corola when they first arrived. I now think they are some of the best looking cars in their class. I think the 8th gen styling will look better as time goes on.

"smaller" gen 7.........
(Preview)
FWIW, I think the gen 8 Accord LOOKS bigger from the outside than it ever has. However, having driven one, it drives like my "smaller" gen 7.........Im my recollection, one of the things Accords were known for was a "smaller on the outside, bigger on the inside" look an feel.......

4 inch difference between the 08 and 07 Accords
(Preview)
I agree with you. My sister has the 08 Accord Sedan and I think it is too big. If Honda wanted to make a Buick like car they should have kept the size of the Accord the same or smaller and came out with another model to compete with the Avalon. I can get over the looks of the 08 but the size is the kill factor for me...

The overall interior design
(Preview)
Count me among one of those who doesn't really like the 8th gen. I've said it before, but it has nothing to do with jealousy even though that idea has been used as a tool to disregard my opinion on a couple of occasions in the past. The styling, especially on the sedan, leaves a lot to be desired imo. The coup...

Love big grills
(Preview)
Love the new trends, hope Honda keeps making designs like the 8th Generation Accord. Love big grills. Anyone saying that they like pre-7th gen designs must like to mod cars. Every pre 7th gen accord I see is moded or has been taken over by ricers. Thank God the 8th Generation Sedan makes it hard for Ricer...

Eagle ResponsEdge tires

What I really like about Hondas has little to do with styling, although that does play a part. I think the gen 8 coupe is great. The first coupe I can see myself in because it isn't a cut off sedan. I have a gen 7 sedan that I bought instead of an Acura TL because it is well put together, uses unleaded regular ga...
