Well, I think it comes across as a bit classier when you recognize that the inspiration for the deep character line on the 2008 Accord is the Acura TL, not the Hyundai Accent. If you look at the side views of all 3 cars at the same time, you'll see that the Accord's character line is a slight variation of the TL's (high on the side, goes through the door handles and is angled up from front to rear), while the Accent's looks nothing like the other 2 (much lower on the side, doesn't go through the door handles and is parallel to the ground). Hyundai did a pretty thorough job of ransacking the Honda/Acura styling toolbox in recent years, so whenever a styling cue on a Honda or Acura looks to be shared with a Hyundai, it's almost certainly a Honda/Acura cue borrowed by Hyundai rather than the other way around... note the near-perfect "gen 6 Accord" ripoff that is the current Sonata. Anyway, as for the character line, you describe it as "strangely executed"... I find it a refreshing expression of attitude that was lacking in the more subtle (some say too subtle) gen 7.Just a couple of benign observations... no reason for anyone to get bent out of shape.
