Yes, new speakers alone can make a big difference. I had the same sort of reservations, but I'm a believer now. I've considered adding an amp, but the speakers alone were a major improvement.

Yes it does. I started by upgrading the four main speakers. I chose Kicker 2 ways all around based on price and efficiency. The difference was clarity and the quality of the overall sound. Even cranked up they were distortion free where the stock ones were not.
