Parts might add up
(Preview)
The Additional parts might add up. You may want to find an accord in the junkyard. Having an LX makes this difficult, you need to get the upper display, the senors aren't so critical as of yet. You just will not be able to fully use the auto climate system becasue of the sensors. I believe the sub diplay rea...

OK Navigation bought now what?
(Preview)
This topic has been raised b4. I was able to get the 05 Navigation system including wiring harness for ~$760 from Ebay shipped. I have an 05 LX and wants to put the nav in it. I know I will need to buy the upper vent with display panel and probably the mouting bracket for the DVD-ROM in the trunk. So will this b...

Yeah I really agree with you there. I do start aggressively every now and then so thats even harder on my fronts. Plus I'm pretty sure my suspension has induced a bit of neg camber on my rears (even though its just the HFP suspension)...so thats another plus to move them to the front.Basically I was think...

Ok, so I've hit just over 6500km on my new Accord and am looking into getting an oil change before I go over the 7500km mark (don't like the thought of having that break in oil with all that metal in there longer than needs to be). I checked the oil life the other day and at 6500-6600km it still says 40%....th...

Crap! so the 07's are getting heated side mirrors? Damn I wish I had that on mine, actually thought about working out a way to add the hybrid side mirrors to mine, but wasn't sure about the wiring and if I would need to change the switch on the door panel to accomodate anything for the heated part of the mirr...

EX or EX-L ? please help
(Preview)
Hello- This might sound stupid but I really can't figure it out. I bought a 2005 Honda Accord V6 coupe 6spd MT last night, and I am picking it up today. The carfax report says it is a EX, but the dealer has written on the agreement that it is an EX-L. I have been doing research and I can't figure out which one it...

I have the all season mats but IMO they're not very effective
(Preview)
The all season mats should have two holes in them to latch onto the hooks in the floor under the driver seat. That will keep them in place. I have the all season mats but IMO they're not very effective - at least in snow. I keep the driver mat in year round because the carpeted mats tend to wear very quickly un...

Buy Sears all season floor mats

The Sears All-Season floor mats (come in Black Tan, Clear and gray..not sure what stock a store may carry..unless you're buying on-line) are great! The won't budge that much, suck in dirt and I have had this car since last November 2005 and I have never ever, not even close, have had to do a double take at...

It uses RAM GPS mount hardware
(Preview)
I struggled to find a good place to mount my Garmin 76C. Came up with this idea when I installed my Blitzsafe. It uses RAM GPS mount hardware available from gpscity.com. I used a 12 flex arm with two 1 ball clamp ends. Mounted the ball on the top of the cubby box. The box has a very sturdy back mount which I dis...

The Garmin C-series are a tiny bit smaller
(Preview)
The Garmin C-series are a tiny bit smaller. The i-series are about half the size. The screens on the i-series are way too small IMO. The external antenna needs to be mounted with a view of the (southern) sky in order for it to be 100% effective, but the unit picks up the GPS signal pretty well even when the d...

I have a C330. It works great and is easy to use. The color screen is clear. You can get the external antenna and mount it in the space under the radio. You can just shut the door when you dont want it visible. You dont need to mount the antenna outside, leave the antenna the dashboard... maybe velcro it to a d...

I'd recommend Lowrance units
(Preview)
I'd recommend Lowrance units. They have a few models that are both gps navigation units and mp3 players all in one. I have the I-way500c unit and it fits perfectly into the storage area below the radio. It almost looks like a custom fit for the Honda Accord.

Transflash memory cards are proprietary

I reccommend the StreePilot c330 ($600-ish) or better. The SP i series have tiny little screens and no touch screens. Transflash memory cards are proprietary and are very expensive. c320 ($500-ish) doesn't have built in maps so you need to connect it to your computer to transfer map files any time yo...

Before I decided on my (used) 2004 V6 EX Sedan (AT), I had narrowed my choices down to a Lexus ES300, a Maxima, and the Accord. I don't think I could have gone really wrong with any choice, but every day I spend in the Accord assures me I made the right one in the end. The Lexus, although mechanically bulletp...

Maxima is a very good value......

Price wise I don't think the Maxima is a very good value...... conversely, you could say the Accord EX V6 at that price is a VERY good value. One really has to wonder if you like Nissans, and want a V6 with either an auto or stick, why anyone would bother with a Maxima at over 30k when an Altima loaded can be ha...

Conundrum, you make a good point about whether the Accord really should be considered a competitor to the Maxima -- based on interior volume (which is, I believe, the metric with which the EPA makes the call on whether a car is full-size, compact, or whatever), the Max is bigger, and I believe it is clas...

The VQ series 3.5 V6 is just as reliable as any Honda engine
(Preview)
The interiors on current Nissans are junk compared to Hondas. I went on a test drive with a friend of mine last year with an Altima 3.5 SE. The plastics were about on the same level as a mid-1990s GM or Ford. The glove box and sunglass holders aren't dampened, and all the switches are very loose and cheap fe...

i also looked at the maxima when i was car shopping but never test drove it when it so i can't comment in that area. i would say that the maxima is the better performer with the bigger engine and more HP and torque, and both cars being about the same weight (maybe about 500 lb difference?). but i think the acc...
