I went to the local Honda dealer today, and the parts department said that their computers wouldn't let them order the TL key. I asked if they would be able to cut it for me if I ordered the key myself. They said they would do it for "a few sodas". I said fair enough, and then I was referred to the service dept. for programming questions. The service writer said that he would not be able to program the key for my '07 Accord. He claims that he wasted time and money just yesterday attempting to program an Acura key for an Acura. He said that when he attempts to program the Acura chip the machine tells him "cannot read chip". So as far as he's concerned, he's willing to do it but believes that it's not possible. I told him that other Accord owners have had success having the TL key programmed, but he stuck to his guns. "Trust me, I know." he said. Now what do I do? Try another dealer? I don't want to do it if I have to take it apart.
