i need help with my all season floor mats
Permalink

hey guys, i kinda have a problem with my all season floor mats, they don't tend to stay in place. i'll put them in place in the beginning, but after about 5 or 10 times of getting out of my car, the floor mats start to shift towards the right. it's because of the egress where my leg is pushing on the floor mats which moves it towards the right (they also happen on the other 3 passenger seats, they tend to shift towards the center of the car, leading me to think that it's the egressing part). these are OEM mats, that i got during my purchase, they have the word ACCORD engraved in it. i never had a problem with all season mats in the pilot, which too is OEM, but i like how the pilot mats are more hard rubber than the accord with soft rubber. so i dont' know what to do now. i thought about putting double sided tape on the underside of the mats but i don't want to damage the original carpeting on the floor. would the plastic hook parts of velcro work on the carpeting to prevent it from shifting? is anybody else experiencing this, or is it just me and my "aggressive" egressing. i sometimes wonder if honda somehow reshaped the floor of the accord and it didn't match with the all season mats or the dealer gave me '05 mats. i don't think the rubber studs on the mats are as long or strong as those in the pilot. i know both sets are OEM because they came in the honda box, but i don't see why they used different materials in both cars. the first few times it wasn't that bad to readjust the mats, but after a while, i was just adjusting them every other day or so and it's getting really annoying. and yes, the driver's mat is installed correctly with the two hooks underneath the seats, but they still move. so can you guys give me some useful tips, thanks.
