I personally don't believe that they'd make the Accord as big as the RL. First off, the RL ain't that big on the outside in all honesty. At the carshow it was parked next to a TL (which is shorter than an accord) and it only looked to be maybe 5-6 inches longer, my eyes could have fooled me, but it just doesn't seem like that big of a car, and for those of you who think the RL drives like a boat, you obviously have never driven one, the main complaint about the RL compared to other cars in its class is that its not 'cushy' enough in ride quality, but it sports a firm, yet imperfection absorbing suspension. If anything, I can see SH-AWD being carried over, but if Honda wanted the new Accord to have any performance gain whatsoever, the J-series V6 would need alotta tweaking to make up for the added weight of the usual upsizing as the generations change, and the weight of the AWD system. Personally, I feel AWD in the Accord is somewhat pointless, but others may think differently. I do however know that in my area, AWD would not be something that sells a car because well, in Texas you don't need no stinkin' AWD (at least in central TX). If it were standard that'd be another story, but if Honda wants to keep prices competitive, we know AWD won't be standard. Another thing I'd like to point out is... why would honda bring the TSX (Euro Accord) into its lineup? If they did that, Acura looses what makes it 'different' from Honda. The fact that the TL and the Accord are based off the same platform is completely non apparent by looking at them, so the only way we could even think of getting a Euro-Accord in Hondas' lineup would be for it to be completely styled different, and for the performance scale to be on two different levels. As in the Euro Accord would have an I4 and the TSX would have a turbo'd I4 or a Small V6. If I were Hondas' marketing advisor this would be my plan.
Bring the CSX to the American Market to join the Acura group. Give the base model signifigant engine/chasis upgrades over the top of the line Civic. This way when those people who want leather on a Civic but can't have it have more reasons to justify the jump to the CSX.
Give the TSX more than one powerplant, yet keep option packages simple. Maybe one model could be a turbo, and the other a naturally aspirated i-Vtec. Turbo Diesel?
The TL is good, hopefully the next gen will keep the Type-S thing going, as the variety in powerplants gives the customer more to choose from.
Go back to Generation 6 on the Accord. Make better sue of the interior space, especially with rear seat room, to help bring the Accord up to Camry and Sonata interior dimensions, but don't sacrafice more trunk space. Diesels are a go! A real performance model needs to come out, one that cost less than a base TL, yet is in between the V6 Accord and a TL power wise.
CR-V - V6!!!
Ody - Perfect and then some.
Pilot - More tourqe in the next generation. Better gearing for hills. Give us a real 3rd row please.
Fit - I expect at least 115-120HP. Handles good, but has no good of a motor to use its full potential. Continue to add more performance add-ons to the HFP line of acessories.
