This is true. When an ECM fails, dealerships DO NOT diagnose which part inside is faulty. They just replace it. Same with all electronics, including radio. They can check if the connections work and miscellaneous things like that, but they can't check which resistor gave out.Like I have said, DEALERSHIPS are the ones to blame, not Honda. Dealerships often tell you Honda will not cover it, even though they have not made an attempt to call Honda. Why? They get paid less for warranty work! It happens across the board, from Toyota to Mercedes (dealt with BOTH). This is NOT a Honda thing. And Honda DOES NOT own the dealerships, they actually have no control over them. Just because the service department fares badly, they cannot stop shipping new cars to them, because it's in a different department. That's why we kept saying...go to a new dealership. As for accordexlv6..."told you so"...Honda did cover it and it was the dealership's fault for not even trying to bring the case to Honda in the first place.
