If I were you, I would tear into the center console and look for a loose or disconnected wire. That's the only thing I can think of.
From my understanding, the front and "in the compartment" socket use the same fuse. I could be wrong, but I remember someone telling me that when I kept getting blown fuses. Also, if I remember right, mine was 20A, but it's been awhile...
