1st car-2000 Civic-took it to the dealer I bought it at... Hated their service dept. I was naive at the time though. I thought I HAD to go to a honda dealer in order to keep the warranty valid and the one I had bought it at was the easiest...
the second one-2003 Civic-I took to the dealer I bought it at for the first couple of scheduled maintenance bits, but quickly began to hate their service dept as well. So I began taking it to a family friend who is a mechanic who has done almost all of the work on my familys' cars since before I was born (the remainder of the work has been done by my dad).
I plan on taking my new Accord to the dealership for oil changes for ease (this is yet another dealership), but I will probably go to the family friend for the rest of the maintenance. I prefer to go to him, but he does tend to cost a little more since he has to pay the same price that I would pay for the genuine honda parts. But I also know I can trust him to do everything I ask and not rip me off on things. The other downside is I usually have to give up my car for a day ro 2 since he is a one man shop... I HATE parting with my car for extended periods of time! (Hence, why I'll just take it to the dealership for the oil changes!)
