At 13k miles my near perfect Civic showed its first year bugs. As major as some sound. My dealer has been wonderful about it.
I developed the power seering leak. Drivers side rear wheel spring sagged. Trunk liner sides became deformed. The drivers door window switch is wonky.
The parts where ordered today.
Both the rear tires are bad. The Belt are sliping in the Bridgestones. I will take this up with the local Bridgestone rep. My dealer does not and will not do tire warrenty. PERIOD. Im cool with that.
The car has developed a miss like thing it does. Its very very faint. Im sure most would never know it was doing it. After it did it for them, we put 90 miles on it with data logging computers in and on the car. The ECU was pulled and data dumped over the net to honda engineering.
I was very impressed with my dealers efforts to kiss my cars a$$ and take care of my concerns. The service dept. is every bit as Impressive as the sales dept.
I put over 250 miles on the car today with the round trip to the dealer being 160 miles of the day. A/C running redline shifts a max speed of 90 mph, just a general day of abuse and the car still turned in a epa 38 mpg.
They where selling cars like crazy. Folks from all over the country where coming in to pick up there cars. I met folks from Houston, Dallas, LA, Philly, DC,,, I lost track and count of the cars that left in the 4 hours i was there. It was unreal.
The civic acted like it enjoyed the attention it was given today. At times there where 3 tech on the silver slut. Attenting to her every need. I was asked to be in the bay shoulder to shoulder with them. Under her when she was on the rack. No restrictions where placed on me at all. i was treated like a parent with a child in a good hospital.
They offerd a loaner many times. I refused and said i'd take her home with me. They then offed any car on the lot if I wanted. The parts wouldnt be in untill Thursday. So i asked if they had a Si, HCHII or a v6/6MT Accord Sedan or Coupe,,, they didnt. I knew they didnt. But they did have two S2000's. I said ok how about a S2000 and know Im going to put 1k miles on it. They said ok. let us fill it up and put a tag on it. But they had one condition. They wanted me to notify my ins. company that i had the car ands asked for my full coverage to back theres. I agreed made the call,,, no problems. But i couldnt fit in the damned car. It was uncomfy has hell for me. my back hurt in the lot. So I took the civic home.
It was the best service Ive ever seen at a dealer. From a dealer that sells at prices far below carsdirect and edmunds prices.
