I still have the RCA TV that I called & got the free part on & it still works as designed. Unfortunately the black back then wasn't as black as now. It replaced a Curtis Mathis...now THAT was a TV!! State of the art 30 years ago!!! Made in TX! I t was still working like new when I donated it away just because it didn't match my decor.
I still think the more compilcated is what's getting us into trouble..... no matter HOW GOOD the parts are made....there's more of them to fail! So if you have a .04% failure rate.....more parts fail if you have 1000 parts vs. 100 parts!
