that's why I rotate my own tires and do any work I can myself. Any other work that I cannot do is done by legitimate mechanics, not the all-in-one chop-shop bastards. I've never heard so much BS slung as in those places. My mother always wonders why I never "just take my car to sears". She doesn't really care so she takes her car to the dealership for everything. At least at the dealership you only really have to worry about high prices, but you can usually be a little more confident that most of the services were done correctly (depending on the dealership, though there really aren't too many shady audi or toyota dealerships that she goes to).
