UPS Double-Semi

Well, buying ANY car is a little bit of a crapshoot, and I agree my small sampling of Nissan autos is no better statistical basis to claim Nissans are junk than your sample of two is for saying they are great. Were just giving our opinions anyway, so your opinion is just as welcome (and valid) as mine for the purposes of this forum. Still, I'd like to hear whether you still praise your Nissan after it has served you faithfully for 177k miles, if it gets that far. Is it even to 70K yet?(Rollovers? I still dont buy that its Fords fault that the buyers of those vehicles didnt realize the basic dynamic differences in driving a vehicle that is short and high off the ground)However, I DO want to clarify one point I stated that I felt my 03 Maxima was junk for reasons NOT related to oil consumption (FWIW, consensus on Maxima.org is that the oil consumption issue is FAR more prevalent on the VQ35 Maximas, [02 and later] than on the earlier VQ30 Maximas). I could enumerate the reasons for the junkiness here but Id be a loooong list and I thought Id spare everyone the negativism. In short, it has to do with poor design (structural as well as mechanical and electrical, and this sub-list is huge), sub-standard ergonomics, turning radius of a UPS Double-Semi, cheap materials, poor corporate support, and the need to go to dealers for absolutely everything thanks to Consult-II (like programming keys, among other things).Reliability? I sold a BMW 540 w/130 miles on it because it was becoming too much trouble & expense and replaced it with the Maxima. Yet I had to take my 70K-mile Maxima to the dealer 4 times in the 2-1/2 miserable months I owned it, and it was costly each time (the BMW visited the dealer 4 times in the 23 months I owned it, and 2 of those were simply for 4-wheel alignments). My sisters old 310GX is not fondly remembered either. My opinion is grounded (unlike a Maximas or 310GXs electrical system) to my satisfaction through relatives and friends horror stories and Maxima.org, but I admit its just an opinion. Still, compare the You might be a 7th-gen owner if thread on this board with the similar thread regarding 5th-gen Maximas on Maxima.org. I think Stevie Wonder could see that the Maximas have FAR more issues, some of them endemic to Nissan.PS I cannot defend Acura on the tranny issue you make a great point. If it werent for that Id have bought an 03 TL Type S instead of having bought that Maxima and now this Accord. Consumer reports DOES give it a black circle on the reliability rating in the tranny category, and it isnt complimentary about the previous-gen Odysseys either.Sorry I wasnt more Succinct
