Quality division for a non-automotive production facility

Totally agree. And note that the Marysville plant is non-Union, which I believe is the crux of the argument: instead of equating low quality with domestic-build, I believe the driver is actually union vs. non-union production. I used to work in the Quality division for a non-automotive production facility and saw first-hand that quality data actually showed a DECREASE in defect rate during a 4 month strike (when engineers and others were pitching in to keep up production rates), as compared to defect data taken during normal production, when union workers ran the show. That said, I must step up and defend Ford, or more specifically Ford trucks. Ive owned two of them (1992 F-150, 1997 Expedition) far North of the 150K mark and found both of them to be very Honda-like in their high-mile reliability and cheapness to maintain. We probably wouldnt have sold the Expy at 177K miles if it could have mustered more than 13 mpg on the highway
