Early 2006, I wanted a good economy/sport car. I went to look at a Civic and did not like the r/s console with the ebrake right there. I like a lil room for my knee. I ended up with an RSX and thought it was good, but it had a lot of crappy lil problems. I really did not consider an Accord Coupe, although I started liking them, especially the new taillight/trunk finish.
I was getting a lil sick of the RSX and warranty was expiring, so on a whim, I looked at how good a deal I could get on a trade and an 07. Well the local dealer, whose service I liked, hit my trade and purchase numbers. I got a good trade and $4k off msrp so I actually upgraded from a silver EX (RSX was silver, boring) to a red EX-L and am really pleased. 2.4 is a great engine, the auto trans is awesome. Car is comfortable and nice in all ways. It nails the whole cost/performance (value via reliability and resale) compramise.
I like nice cars but won't spend money I don't have for one. It's hard to want for much more in a car than the Accord. Not many Coupes out there that are similar or better. imo, Civic is not even close and at the same price point, it's a no-brainer.
