1) Ricers: Civics unfortunately end up in the hands of thugs and ricers, either through theft or resale 2) Insurance costs: It's cheaper to insure the accord because of the high incidence of accidents/thefts with the civic 3) Safety: The accord is bigger, heavier, safer 4) Comfort: The accord is larger, more comfortable 5) Flexibility: The accord has plenty of room for whatever use, whether you intend to put car seats or lumber in the back. I use mine as a daily driver, but sometimes it's a kid-hauler, and sometimes I throw lumber in it. You can easily fold down the rear seat or pop open the hatch in the middle of the seat and slide through several 2x4x8s. I've bought all the materials to build a planter box and even a fence with it. 6) Image: The accord is nice enough to take out a date and use valet parking, or low-key enough not to look like a bmw prick.
