Actually music is not intended to only be heard from the front, the range of sound fills in your ear from all directions. When you go to a concert the band plays in front of you and hits your ears from the front but also reverbs off of the walls behind you and from the side. This is true of any indoor concert reguardless of genre or type, you get this same effect in your car... if only the front speakers played the music would be empty leaving your ears wanting more. Have you ever driven with all audio kicked to the front? It sounds like its missing something. The fact that sound is absorbed from all directions is also the reason surround sound was created.... different frequencies and sounds resonate in different places hence "imaging".... which is why speakers are put in the rear deck or doors, the rear fill is just as important as the stereo image up front. There's more to this but ive probably already bored you all to death. lol...
