If you took your TL in with a rattle/buzz that drove you nuts and the service guy said in the immortal words of accordlover: "Just pump up the volume!!", don't you think you just might belt him one? I would.
While I agree that rattles aren't on the same level as fried alternators, seized engines and such, they are something that can be minimized through thorough sound insulating, buffers between rubbing components, and sufficient fasteners to avoid movement. My opinion is that Honda has cut these items where the customer doesn't see it on the showroom floor, only to be surprised later on after the ink has dried.
THAT has been the GM/Ford/Chrysler way of building cars: if the customer can't see it... cut it! Who cares what happens once the car is burnin' gas.
