There is no doubt that Honda has made significant improvements to the Accord and their other products. My first Accord was nothing like today's model. One thing to keep in mind, Honda is very concerned about the Acura line. Sales are way down and while the new TL is amazing, so is the new Accord. A loaded Accord vs a loaded AWD TL is an easy sell for most dealers. Basically, the consumers are not paying enough for the Acura badge.
What I am seeing from Honda is a push to fill in the gap between Honda and Acura to ensure total vehicle sales do not slip. Regardless of Honda product, you are buying quality and durability. Can't say that for the Chevy Malibu that's all over network ad space or the Toyota Camry which is racking up the recalls again. Take a look at the new Hyundai Sonata...not to buy, but for the amount of value they are throwing into that car for the money. The same car in Korea sells for 40K+. Honda is definitely keeping up.
