2004 Tiberion (4-cyl)

Guess its about time I post here too eh?....lol.

Anyhow my real name is James, I'm 24, and I live in Courtice, Ontario, Canada. As far as work goes, presently work in IT and computer/network support, and before that I worked part time as a web designer for a small local company.

I guess you could say I've always been interested in cars since I was born. The joke was that my first word actually was never "mommy" or "daddy"...it was actually "vroom vroom"... lmao.gif

As far as cars go, my "first" car was a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire, which I drove right up until I got my Accord. It was originally my dad's car, and essentially became mine a few years ago after I started driving it 90% of the time and paying for all the repairs (and as it was an older GM there were many...including a few engines...lol). It may have had more than its share of issues, but overall it was a decent/good car to me while it lasted (never buying a domestic though).

Anyhow, when I started looking into cars I knew I wanted something sporty that was a coupe. First I looked at both the 2004 Tiberion (4-cyl), and 2004 Celica. One test drive of the Tiberion was enough to tell me I didn't want the car (drove slower than my Sunfire), and the Celica...well, it just wasn't worth what they wanted for a 140hp car. After nixing those two options, a few friends told me to look at a 2005 RSX Type-S. I can say after driving the Type-S, I knew I wanted something made by Honda in the driveway...lol. I was actually about a week away from buying a 2006 RSX Type-S, when I went out to a local bar with some friends from work and told them what I was planning. One of the guys owned a 2003 Accord Coupe 6MT, and told me to at least take a look at the car. I told him that I figured it had to be at least a few thousand more than the Type-S (I knew it had a 240hp V6), and he told me he doubted it was more than a thousand more, and that I'd have much more room haggling for a Honda than an Acura.

Long story short, I test drove a 2004 V6 5AT (all the dealer had), and my friend let me take his 2003 V6 6MT around the block at work a few times and I knew I was hooked. Called the insurance company and found out it was around $1000 a year cheaper for me to have the 6MT than the Type-S! It also ended up Honda was willing to talk numbers and Acura was not. The rest my friends is history. I would have liked a G35 M-Sport 6MT Coupe as well...but the price was just more than I could stomach.
