I was in the same boat you were in so to speak. Civic or Accord. In both cases, we were considering the sedan.
We just started a family recently and a new car was in order to accomodate our new lifestyle: the baby, stroller, diaper bag, etc. Initially, we had an 08 civic in our sights but after sitting in the driver's seat with both the infant car seat and my wife populating the back seat, we were a bit disappointed by the lack of cabin space. Right away, this sold me on the new Accord. Of course the Accord is pricier, but you get a much better car with more features and more importanly for us, the extra space.
Your choice will most likely be determined by your needs and lifestyle. If you need the extra room of a large sedan, and have to haul people and things around alot, get the Accord. If you are using it for a basic commuter car and groccery getter that you mainly drive yourself with no passengers, get the Civic or the Accord coupe.
Go for a test drive. Maybe that will move you in the right direction.
