This reminds me of what happened to my wife's Suzuki XL-7 shortly after we purchased it. We were out for a drive on a Saturday afternoon on a local road. As I was taking a curve in the road, the right front tire happens to catch a spray can of bright orange marking paint that some idiot left in the road. The can became crushed and exploded in the process. After hearing the loud explosion and seeing the bright orange cloud of paint mist, I pulled over to survey the damage. I could not believe my eyes! There was bright orange paint all over the one side of the Suzuki and the paint also made its way into the truck as we had the windows open (it WAS a nice summer day up until that point). Luckily, we were only a few blocks away from home. I rushed home and pulled out the garden hose and wash bucket and started to wash off the orange paint. Not all of it came off with the wash (the warmth of the day also helped the paint dry faster!). I had to wax the whole side of the truck to get all of it off. I also had to clean the interior (good thing for leather seats) with a wide selection of cleaners. I was amazed at all of the nooks and crannies that the paint made it's way in! What a nightmare!!! Poop is definitely better than paint.
