2008Accord EX-L I4 A5 sedan purchased Sept 28. This is my first Honda and first Import since 1978 (Fiat 124 Spider).
I bought the car w/o a test drive based SOLEY on Honda's REPUTATION. While I think it's a nice car, this will be my last. After test driving the new Malibu I find Chevrolet has caught if not passed many of the so called superior Imports.
Specific gripes:
1. Location of seat heater switches. 2. Third world tilt/telescoping feature 3. No seat heater element on passenger seat back 4. No coin holder 5. Some interior creaking and other noises (mostly plastic sounding) 6. Fuel mileage, my 06 Corvette gets the same fuel mileage (as long as I'm not having fun) 7. No Homelink on I4 EX-L 8. No HID or Driving/Fog lights on I4 EX-L 9. Idle's ROUGH anytime the AC compressor kicks in 10. Windshield wipers make a hard "CLUNKING" sound at the end of their swing (sounds like they are hitting a stop or something) 11. No split folding rear seat 12. To drop the rear seat back you have to open the trunk
I doubt a year from now I'll still own this car. But at least I'll be able to speak from experience the next time someone says Imports are better built/designed cars.
Honda had a chance to capture a new loyal owner and blew it.
