I did this on my Accord not too long after I bought it. The A/C still comes on when you switch the HVAC to the defrost mode but you can turn it off when you want to - I really like that since I don't like driving with A/C on if I don't need it on - you can really feel when the compressor is on when driving in city traffic. It's all about having control over the A/C coming on - I really like that Honda did it this way. Just my $0.02.
