Why do people use lotion more in the winter, because the air is already dry. Heat does not significantly add moisture to the air if there is nothing/almost nothing to evaporate. There are many times that I turn the AC compressor off even though I intentionally have the air circulating through the defroster vents. As long as there isn't crazy humidity outside and you don't have it on recirculate, then AC just isn't always necessary to defog/defrost. Why run the AC if you don't need to. There is no point in wasting gas and killing your power unnecessarely.
