As you said, we have very limited access to anything else. It makes finding alternatives to petrol nearly impossible. Back-handed and indirect insults directed at people trying to get relatively decent mileage (in regional context) with what is available are fun, but completely pointless and mainly rude. We realize that there are better alternatives to petrolium, but again, there is very little we can do about it at the moment due to the fact that so many people still needlessly drive huge trucks and gas prices here just aren't nearly as high as they are in euroland. You guys have more monetary incentive to use less gas, we do not (it is sad to me that the only thing that people seem to care about when it comes to fuel is the amount of money they spend at the pump). I suppose you can simplify it and say things like "just don't buy that type of car", but that is more of a testament to your ignorance than it is a simple solution to a slightly more complicated problem. Once gas prices get up there (like they should be imo) and it starts hitting people in the wallet and appropriately affecting automobile buying trends we will have some better alternatives and options than we do now. Untill that happens, however, those of us who don't want to get 13mpg highway will continue to have very few alternatives. __________________I suffer from a condition characterized by extremely long posts, sorry...
