That seems to be the trend that I have followed since buying a new 2002 CR-V, a used 2001 Insight (in 2003), a new 2004 Odyssey, and now a used 2000 Accord EX V-6 Coupe that my son will be driving to college in.
The Accord is an Emerald Green, 1-owner beauty with 86,000 miles that drives like a dream. I think my son is now driving a nicer car than I am! I would swap him for my Insight except I don't want to give up the 54mpg.
I like to do most of my own car maintenance and had been perusing the many Accord related forums to try and pick up any tips for the list of things I will be doing on this car (A/C and Air Filters, Oil & Filter changes, etc.). This forum provided me with one big surprise though, Wet Paint Glaze (thanks RTexasF!).
I had been planning to do an "old-school, wax-on/wax-off" clay bar & paint sealant treatment to shine up that green paint but now I can't wait to order and use Wet Paint on it. It sounds like exactly what I was looking for, something that would protect the finish and be easy for my son to maintain.
The CR-V is a medium tan color (Mojave Mist) that is in really bad shape from being parked outside all the time. I'm going to clay and WP that as well.
I've been involved with car forums since 1998 and I can't believe I've never heard of this stuff!
So it looks like my summer is filled with car projects. Fixing up the Accord, cleaning up the CR-V for my daughter (who just turned 16), keeping the Ody and Insight rolling along, and if that wasn't enough, working on my only non-Honda, a 1955 Chevy Bel Air. Ah, life is good!
