Oil is the lifeblood of the motor - the better it is the better the motor works. If you want your motor to run properly for years and years and years, there's no such thing as "close enough" with oil.I change mine every 3-4 thousand miles, or every 3 months whichever comes first. I would say that anything over 5,000 miles is on the "bad" side.Oil can't be too clean. The only concern about the frequency of oil changes is the wear and tear of the actual process - the mechanical wear of removing and replacing the oil filter and drain plug. This wear is normally never considered because most of the time it simply never becomes a problem before the car is retired. But it does become an issue for very long-lived cars.So the question of how often to change your oil is actually an answer - the question it answers is "how many miles do you want your car to last?" __________________1982 silver Honda Accord sedan, Auto, immaculate
