Keep in mind that Acura got rid of the inexpensive, and sales boosting, RSX.
Not a good move on their part because it didn't seem to help them move further upscale like they had hoped. And their most recent releases are just plain awkward and overpriced. The RL and RDX were complete mis-steps from the get go. When the RL first came out I sat in one at the auto show and the first thing that came to my mind was "Why would anyone buy this?" There's nothing compelling about it. The goofy snout on the RDX might be ok on a 26-28k mini suv but being priced in the mid 30's puts it in the range of a lot of nice suv's and cars. I think Acura planned on selling 40,000 per year but they are selling more like 20k.
And with the RL redesign being what it is (the worst Honda mid cycle refresh ever imho)... I'm not going to hold my breath for the new TSX and TL.
