Decided to speedApril 5, 2008 i vote on bird poop too. it looks nasty but glad it washed off with out leaving any scratches in the paint.
quick story.. one day i was driving on the highway on my way home from the beach and some guys in the lane next to me were "hollering" so i rolled up my window and sped up. freaking idiots decided to speed up and throw a gatorade bottle at my car. I WAS PISSED. and i have a nice little dent to show for it. people really have no respect for other peoples property. |

Glad to hear all is okay with the car...another vote for bird poop.April 5, 2008 This reminds me of what happened to my wife's Suzuki XL-7 shortly after we purchased it. We were out for a drive on a Saturday afternoon on a local road. As I was taking a curve in the road, the right front tire happens to catch a spray can of bright orange marking paint that some idiot left in the road. The can became crushed and exploded in the process. After hearing the loud explosion and seeing the bright orange cloud of paint mist, I pulled over to survey the damage. I could not believe my eyes! There was bright orange paint all over the one side of the Suzuki and the paint also made its way into the truck as we had the windows open (it WAS a nice summer day up until that point). Luckily, we were only a few blocks away from home. I rushed home and pulled out the garden hose and wash bucket and started to wash off the orange paint. Not all of it came off with the wash (the warmth of the day also helped the paint dry faster!). I had to wax the whole side of the truck to get all of it off. I also had to clean the interior (good thing for leather seats) with a wide selection of cleaners. I was amazed at all of the nooks and crannies that the paint made it's way in! What a nightmare!!! Poop is definitely better than paint. |

color dependsApril 5, 2008 I vote for the bird poop. I've been in the car a few times when its hit and it can sound a lot worse from inside. And the color depends on what they've eaten. I hate when the feathered f'ers eat berries. Its almost like ink.
Even a rock on the windshield can make a horrible WHACK noise and you'd swear your windshield should have shattered. No damage done. Don't let it get you paranoid about the new ride. |

I think somebody out there either hates my car or all new cars in general... sighApril 5, 2008 I was driving around today during my lunch break for a little bit. I was the second car stopped at a light in the left lane on a 3 lane (each way) road. There was no one in the middle lane but I needed to turn left in a short distance anyway.
So the light turns green and I start accelerating like normal. I hear a noise at the back right wheel well.. I thought I ran over something but I was paying attention to the road and didn't see anything. I thought maybe something just happened to roll across the road and just the right (or wrong) moment. When I got back to work, I didn't even think about looking at what it was. Because of the way I was parked at work, I never even saw that side of the car until I got home, and saw this nice mess. I'm under the impression that the noise I heard was someone who was driving down the middle lane and threw something at my car. It looks like crap but I'd hope that people don't drive around with crap, ready to throw it at new cars. I'm guessing it was maybe a pastry of some sort.. The good news is that whatever it was didn't leave any scratches or dents and I was able to easily clean it up with a microfiber cloth and some spray wax. I really can't believe someone would do that though - really pisses me off. |

Special thanks again to Glen at Clear Choice DetailingApril 3, 2008 Okay guys, I just got home from Philly. The job took about 5 and ½ hours total. I waited and the time really flew by watching the installation. It's a very interesting process. At the end, the 3M clear bra came out great! No complaints at all. Special thanks again to Glen at Clear Choice Detailing. If you're in the Delaware, New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania area, defiantly give him a call for your PFF clear bra needs.
It's pretty dark right now so below I posted one phone picture from my T-Mobile Dash from earlier. Next time I wash my car, I'll post some higher quality pictures for all to see (or not see...). |

08exl! No problemApril 3, 2008 I will 08exl! No problem. If you plan on keeping your car for a long time and want to keep your paint from chipping because of road hazards, definitely consider getting a PPF package. I learned the hard way on my 02 Accord SE sedan. It sucks too. The rest of the car is in great condition except for the nose area. Automotive paint is very weak (water-based now, not lead) in general and it's not just a Honda/Acura problem. |

Horizontal surfacesApril 3, 2008 Make sure they cover ALL the surface, well at least where possible.I had a custom job done as well, it's quite good, but they cheaped out on some horizontal surfaces such as the 90 deg surface immediately above the front part of the bumper as well as where the upper and lower grill openings, in some cases it may not look quite as good to cover these area, but it will protect much better, in some other cases they just took the easy way out.........Overall it's money well spent.BTW, I wouldn't bother taking pictures, the whole point of the Clear Bra is that it should be just about invisible, if you can see it easily from a short distance away, then they did a poor job! |

strut tie-bar back without charging me the restocking feeApril 3, 2008 Update: NEUSPEED is taking the strut tie-bar back without charging me the restocking fee. It's amazing how much differently you get treated when you talk to a different person. I although have to take the cut for the return shipping but that only cost $7 and I can deal with that. $122.95 back in my pocket...haha. |

6spd strut barApril 3, 2008 I wish my 6spd strut bar was as pretty as that one and some of the other aftermarket ones. God this thread is getting long.

NEUSPEEDApril 3, 2008 Well guess what everyone...I just got another mod for my car. A NEUSPEED Upper strut tie-bar.
I didn't even want it! They're idiots at NEUSPEED for sending me this. I just called them and asked why they sent it when I canceled the order and they said it was never canceled! WTF, I talked to a live person when I canceled it last week. They're willing to take it back with a retocking fee (even though I didn't open the box yet) plus I have to pay for the return shipping. I'll be keeping it and installing it later. It's not worth returning it. Oh well... Yay for my first "suspension" mod! |

Great additionApril 3, 2008 It's a great addition. It doesn't rattle at all. You will notice a slight increase in vibration compared to the stock mirror but it's not too crazy and you'll stop noticing it after a few days. Absolutely no noise is produced from the vibration increase.
You install the auto-dimming mirror onto the existing mirror mount on the windshield. The base of the mirror "floats" on the upper-center of the windshield (as you probably know). You re-use it for the install. After removing the standard mirror, you swap the standard spring/clip in the base with the stronger one that is supplied with the attachment kit. I'm guessing some people are forgetting to do and is why they are experiencing rattles after installing the auto-dimming mirror. |

very nice accessoryApril 3, 2008 I got some free time this afternoon so I installed my OEM automatic day/night mirror w/ compass. It only took 30 minutes. Very easy to do.
The mirror is a very nice accessory. It compliments the Accord's interior well. I have noticed an increase in vibration compared to the standard mirror but it's only when my stereo is cranked up. It's not annoying to me (as long as it doesn't rattle). I recommend getting it if you have some extra cash. Oh yea, btw, don't ask me about the auto-dimming feature of the mirror...my three rear windows are tinted to 5% VLT. The compass and the thing that covers up the connector cable is reallllly cool though! |

Slightly improved predictabilityApril 3, 2008 I think it's be more of a cumulative/supplemental sort of thing, so to answer your question ... maybe. It might help, it might not, but less flex is generally better for stable and predictable handling. So maybe that slightly improved predictability at the limit will help you avoid a crash in an emergency situation. __________________I suffer from a condition characterized by extremely long posts, sorry... |

Discount on your insurance policyApril 3, 2008 No offense taken at all and I agree 100%. I know my driving limits and I never overstate or challenge them. Frankly, I don't have the courage to drive like some crazy people do and I don't want to face the horrible consequences if/when something happens.I'm all about minor tweaks and changes on my car anyway. I guess using "great" wasn't the best word to use.Funny you mentioned the driving skills class. AAA has some at Dover International Raceway where you can get better acquainted with your driving skills and your car. I'm going one Saturday but I will have to wait till next summer since school started up again. It's worth it from what I hear plus you get a discount on your insurance policy. |

Performance partsApril 3, 2008 There will be some minor improvements, but only when the car is driven hard through the corners, and if you are going to drive the car that hard and especially on public roads, then perhaps, and please don't take this personally, a high performance driving course, or Solo 2 races to improve your driving skills should be your first investment towards the performance improvement of the car. It's never wise to think that adding a couple of performance parts to your car will magically transform the owner into Mario Andretti or Michael Schuemacher, we all like to think we are better driver than the next guy if our cars were better/faster, but the fact of the matter is that most of us are OK drivers at best, and it is really dangerous to falsely think that we can be better with some minor performance parts added to our cars. |

"DELAWARE"April 3, 2008 Small update, I guess...
I put a very thin size and very nice looking Temple University strip decal on my rear windshield a few days ago. I bought it at the school bookstore with my textbooks. I'll post some pictures of it Sunday (after I wash my dirrrty car). It's almost alien where I live to have another school's name on your car other than "DELAWARE" for the University of Delaware. I love the amazed looks I get for having it (and my new custom tag) on my hott car. Oh yea....almost forgot...GO OWLS!! MISSION POSSIBLE in '08. |

"Accord" engraved aluminum racing pedalsApril 3, 2008 My "Accord" engraved aluminum racing pedals came in Friday and the moment I opened the box, I was BLOWN AWAY by there HIGH quality. IMO, the set is definitely worth MORE than the $55 I paid.
It took about an hour to get them installed. I left the stock foot rest and accelerator pedal on and drilled the aluminum ones right on top of them. For the brake pedal, I removed the stock rubber pedal covering before installing the aluminum brake pedal. I love the grip of my new racing pedals. They really make driving my Accord Coupe even more enjoyable. |

Beautiful glossy black powderApril 3, 2008 My GrillCraft Mx-series lower grille came in Friday!! It looks like it was shipped from GrillCraft straight...might have been a manufactures special order for NOPI.
It took me a while, but I got it installed today. I took the little GrillCraft logo off of it before I installed it. The grille itself is built with high quality and has a beautiful glossy black powder finish. The front-end of my car looks SO much better now because you can't see that very noticeable radiator. Here's some pictures of my new grill. |

wondering if the USAspec audioApril 3, 2008 hey kunal, car looks awesome with the tints. i was wondering if the USAspec audio mod was installed yourself or by dealer. i have the 07 i4 EX coupe model and was wondering where the pin connector is on the radio when you remove the cubby. i plan on installing a similar mod in my car as well and want to avoid any aggravation of not being able to find it. can't wait to see how ur car looks with the new grill. no jdm red honda emblem? lol

Polarized sunglassesApril 3, 2008 Yup...my first E-ZPass transponder is mounted within the tint on my 02 Accord and I haven't gotten any problems for that. It's a great place to have it because the only way someone can see it is if they have polarized sunglasses on.Thanks again! |

Red lighting totally "sink in" while drivingApril 3, 2008 Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video, it looks great! I've driven a coupe at night but it was only for a very brief period, and I didn't really have time to let the red lighting totally "sink in" while driving. I would like to try to do so again in the near future, though, and this time really pay attention and see what I think about it all!

Break-in periodApril 3, 2008 Man those first 600 miles were really nerve raking haha. I kept it under 3,000 rpm and didn't go past 50mi/h.It's been a very nice ride thus far and I love it! I really got to slow down driving it so much! Are there any other precautions I should take from this point on? Should I still carry the "break-in period" driving style up to 1,000 miles to be safe? |

Honda SyndromeApril 3, 2008 But I've seen a few in person and had the same opinion, though. But you are right on about the TSX. My g/f just bought an '07 w/ black interior and the carpet doesn't look purple-ish at all. Like I said earlier, I have seen quite a few in person (most very well taken care of too) and I picked up on the purple-ish tint. Not as bad as these photos, though, and the second group I showed you does look overly bad. Oh well, this could be another case of what I call the "Honda Syndrome", where one car looks one way and the same exact model, year, color, etc., looks different with no real rhyme or reason to it. No problem at all, KunalPatel87! I am just happy you took the time to do this and can't wait to see it. |

Black carpet looks in realityApril 3, 2008 those pics aren't accurate at all of how the black carpet looks in reality. i went outside and checked out both our accord and tsx (both black interiors) neither have the tiniest bit of purple-ish hint to them. the carpet is a lighter charcoal than the rest of the interior, but definitely not purple. alot of black turns a purpley color when it's been in the sun for years or possibly when cleaned with an inappropriate product. given those are both used vehicles, i'm guessing someone cleaned them with something that effectively bleached the carpet. or else someone took some really bad pics! |

Black Grillcraft grilleApril 3, 2008 I'm pretty much done with it after the black Grillcraft grille. I know I didn't do anything different, special or unique, but I think it looks great and very "grown-up" right now. It's a wonderful car from the beginning and it came loaded with 80% of everything I wanted. VERY minor tweaking was needed to be done after I got it.The OEM lips look great on darker Accords like yours though. Very nice car btw.I'm planning on getting the OEM full mask and OEM splash guards in the winter and using them seasonally only.Anyway, college is starting up soon and I got to start saving money for school expenses and stuff... |

Looks at night illuminated is a little betterApril 3, 2008 did you see a sun damaged blakc interior or something?? we've had quite a few of the black interiors and have never had dark purple-ish carpet..... it's a charcoal color, not quite solid black, but definitely not purple-ish at all....the reddish interior lighting isn't really all the red in the coupes. it's more amber/orangish. i wasn't too huge of a fan of it either when i bought my coupe. but it was nowhere near as obnoxious as i had imagined. it's bright enough to see it, but dim enough that you aren't blinded by it. in some respects the way it looks at night illuminated is a little better than the white in the sedans. i think it helps that nothing is backlit (thinking of how pontiac sunfires have the radio display with orangeish backlighting, then black letters which was annoying). |

Horrific front wheel gap HondaApril 3, 2008 Suggestion would be a drop of course to reduce that horrific front wheel gap Honda has decided to punish us all with. Mud flaps are always nice. I'd suggest the front lip (i think the fronts a bit boring) but I think you mentioned you didn't care for those or spoilers. Oh and OEM gray rims...

rear quarter windowsApril 3, 2008 I had a little tint setup change after ironically seeing another fresh tint job on a pre-MMC Accord Coupe at the tint shop.
It was tinted 5% on the rear window and rear quarter windows and 20% on the front sides. It looked REAL good. It blended in very nicely because of the metalized polyester in the film. The owner, who tinted my windows on Tuesday, said he could do it for me on the spot for $84.00 (including the $15 removal of the sun-strip) and in 1.5 hours time. I was like what the heck...GO FOR IT! I was only going to lose the slightest darkness and gain a lot of visibility. I wish I had seen this setup before I had the job done the first time. It's a 93 degree, sunny day so you tell me how the "mixed shade" tinting job looks. |

colors seem to complimentApril 3, 2008 KunalPatel87, your coupe is VERY nice! The gray leather interior is such an interesting combo w/ the silver exterior...I like it! In many cases when exterior/interior colors are close to the same, it can look kind of boring IMO. But these colors seem to compliment each other very well!
*Not to mention I don't really care for the dark purple-ish (or whatever color you want to call it) carpet found in the black interior and I like the carpet in this interior so much better. Do you happen to have any night lighting interior shots? I've always had mixed feelings about the reddish interior lighting color found on the coupe but I always wonder if it is one of those things that would eventually grow on me... |

15 different types of films to chooseApril 3, 2008 Got my windows tinted today at Professional Window Tinting Inc. in Elkton, MD.
They are VERY PROFESSIONAL and HIGHLY experienced. They've been in the tinting business for 15 years now doing everything from autos to hospitals. They had over 15 different types of films to choose from and I ended up choosing a metalized tint by Diamond Automotive Window Films called "Radiant" in the 5% shade. The owner and his son tinted my windows personally in about 2 hours and half. They told me straight up, tinting is not a race and it may take up to three hours and I agreed to this and waited patiently. |
