pre-amp RCA outputs

About the RCA cables question: Yes, I think is always better to use RCAs between Head Unit and the amp(s). Usually speaker-level inputs to the amp are used if the HU doesnt have pre-amp RCA outputs (like most OEM receivers). I dont know if there is a difference in sound for using one method vs. the other, but using RCAs makes for a faster and cleaner installation and easier to troubleshoot if you have to. About your installation how to question: Thats kind of a broad question which is hard to answer in one or even several posts. I still dont understand everything that you have or want to do. I also dont know how much you know or dont know about car audio installations. So my best advice is this: Go to Crutchfields Car Audio/Video section forums and read the Guides that explain everything about car audio components and installations. There is a separate guide for each topic (amps, speakers, etc), you have to go into each respective section to find each one. The Guides are posted as sticky so youll find them among the first threads in each section. I found those guides to be very comprehensive and easy to understand, plus they have some visuals to better explain things. Youll learn all the basics and itll help you on what to buy and which set up works best for each case.If after reading the Guides you feel uncertain about what to do, then I would suggest you have it done by professionals. However if reading the Guides helps you (which I hope it does) and you do the installation yourself, you will know how to do most of the basic setup and perhaps you will narrow any questions to more specific topics, which will make it easier for me and others members to help you.Good luck with your new audio system and enjoy.
