"goodwill" out of warranty replacement or repair
Permalink

I answered your questions. You don't like the answer!

Whenever Honda does a "goodwill" out of warranty replacement or repair, the dealer eats the clost of the labor & the Honda company pays for the parts. Simple as that.

HONDA CAN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS UNTIL THE ENGINEERS LOOK INSIDE THE UNIT!!!!!!!!!! Which will not be done unless it's sent in AFTER it's replaced!!!! Since LED bulbs don't normally burn out with a cause, it's likely something INSIDE going wrong!!! THE TECHS DON'T LOOK INSIDE THE UNIT!!!! Not once, not twice NOT AT ALL!! The places where they check at the connectors. I can't say it more plainly. If it's so simple, do it yourself. I posted the tool required.

Stop accusing me of NOT answering questions that I have spent a great deal of time & effort answering!!

No, I don't know what's wrong with your unit. No, the dealer doesn't either & won't. The educated guess is that it's what has happened with the in-warranty ones & the ONLY fix is to replace the whole unit.

Where in the world do you think the dealer gets the money to pay their techs? It's from the repairs done on the cars. Most shops are "flat rate" which means the techs get paid for the jobs they do....not to just be there. So if you want something for nothing rarely would they do it. The techs don't get paid when you buy a car! Any funds from that would go to the sales department. It's apples & oranges. Money from sales go there, money from service goes there.

Honda's policy is simple. If you want things replaced for nothing, buy an extended warranty. The "goodwill" is for customers relations & it will always depend on the dealer.

I give up....

You've asked the same thing in different words over & over again! They've been answered....even an "unknown" is an answer!!
