The more I look at this, the harder it is to love. In might be just in the pics, and it could be the lighting (looks like bright sunlight that makes dust/smudges show up even on a brand-new car), but it seems real ugly. That great expanse of dark plastic above the gauges (which no doubt has hidden icons that light up to indicate various functions) makes it look real cheap. I don't hate the chrome as much as I thought I would, and neither do I hate the moving away from a large central speedo with a smaller secondary tach -- it now looks like a VW, whereas my 7th gen looks more classier in a MB kinda way -- a step down, but still a German
