In my test drives of the TSX I was quite struck by how much road noise pervades the cabin. This is a common problem in Honda branded cars, but for the money I expected much better from an Acura in the year 2007.
I otherwise thought the TSX's interior of superb quality, and I've always liked its configuration/look.
But I've always figured if I'm going to spend that much money on a premium branded car, it'd better bloody well be *everything* I want in a car, including quiet. But my affordability range limited me to around 25 grand, so the Accord proved a superior value in a manual transmission car (the type of transmission I insist on at all times): It's larger, has a better ride than the 6-speed manual TSX, has navigation (which would have jacked up the price of the TSX even higher than a loaded Accord), and uses regular fuel (the TSX recommends premium). Road noise was about the same for both cars (i.e. irritating), but at least I didn't pay a premium to endure it like I would have had I bought the Acura.
So, while the TSX is still a good car, for the same price I felt I ended up with considerably more in the Accord.
And oh yes-- The Accord probably costs less to insure, also, given that Acura is a "prestige" brand (thus commanding higher insurance premiums)...
