___I support Nuclear 100% although I am somewhat biased given this industry gives me a paycheck every other week for the time being.
___WRT rolling blackouts, do you know it takes almost as much electric energy to produce a gallon of gasoline as it does to drive an electric car the same distance on the same amount of energy? I thought that would shock you as to why we are using a known energy source we control and own outright to pump, refine, distribute and redistribute a liquid we have to get from overseas or across the border when we could use the same energy to fill a battery in the first place. A huge decrease in GHG emissions by doing so as well. Scary, isnt it!
___NiMH and Li-Ion Batteries are far more recyclable then even Pb-Acids because they are so valuable. The real problem with batteries is there isnt enough Lithium on the planet to build our cars with the latest Li-Ion packs
___As for the South Park - Smug episode, I would hope everyone in this forum take a drive in a Prius-II w/ package 6 someday. They are less then $25,000 after the $1,575 tax credit today while fully loaded w/ leather and NAVI including more leg room front and rear. The first time you pull up to a stop sign or light and the ICE is off and you take off from the same and the ICE is still off, the light bulb lights up and you realize that everybody else (idling away at a light and reaccelerating at an atrocious 2 - 3 mpg or less up to 15 + mph) is 100% wrong with their current choice of automobile
___Messfeeder, sure, the IPCC and every other climatologist on the planet who are far sharper then any of us wrt the subject at hand. Do you really think these highly trained scientists are screaming chicken little? Personally I do not think laughing about a subject as serious as Global Warming is such a smart idea but that is just me
