consequence of our election system

It's political; he will not practice what he preaches because thats hard and Inconvenient. He will however get as much into the public eye as possible and say that people need to conserve and that he is the best thing to happen to the environment since the advent of the solar cell. In reality though all he is trying to do is persuade the American people into voting for democrats and if he can manage another comeback himself. It is really no different then what all politicians already do. They find a topic that is slightly warm to the American people and then exploit the heck out of it, make it an issue and then once elected do nothing about it. Hence my favorite president (Kidding) Bill Clinton. Mr. Clinton Osama has bombed the marine barracks in Africa, Mr. President Osama has bombed the USS Cole. And all he does is send in cruise missiles. Mistakes were made on both ends but Clinton could have stopped it before Bush took office. I will admit Rumsy was an idiot and will go down probably as McCain said one of the worst SoD (Secretary of Defense) ever. His mismanagement of both wars is incomprehensible. Had we had a leader like we did during WWII maybe we could have made a more positive difference. Gen. Shinseki said at the beginning of the war he needed 6 times more troops then what he had and he could stabilize the country. I can not see what would have happened, but I am guessing if we could have locked down the boarders and a different outcome could have happened. And yes I am well aware that the president was responsible for the SoD but I think to get elected he had to make promises and that cost him in the long run. When it costs in the hundreds of millions to get elected president you are going to have to do a little selling. ALL politicians do it and that is a consequence of our election system. To end my post I will end with this. NO president will unite the WHOLE country (Something about "you can please some of the people some of the time but you will never please all the people all of the time"). The other side will always find a way to exploit an issue and make it look like the other guy is wrong. And lastly 99% if not all politicians are corrupt in one way shape or form. You can disagree but all presidents have skeletons in their closets, some are just more visible than others. Go to wiki and read about Lincoln and you will see during the civil war he spent money without congressional authorization, and imprisoned 18,000 suspected Confederate sympathizers without trial. Sound familiar? But yet he is recognized as one of the best presidents, go figure. One last thought, somehow I already feel the flames of other posts.
