We bought our first 7-gen 4 years ago (EX-L 4AT) and felt lucky to get a JDM version. That car has been flawless, still no rattles or issues whatsoever (other than the idle vibration in drive which all of these cars of that year have, which we just ignore as a quirk).
I just traded my Maxima in for a 2007 (EX-L 4AT) and was seaching for a JDM version but to no avail and purchased a USA - Ohio built one. So far, this car has been equally reliable, rattle free and flawless. Even the Idle vibration has been erradicated in this MY.
Since I drive a JDM and USA 7-gen interchangbly all of the time, I can say that at least in our case, these cars appear to be of equal build quailty.
