"fixed" the non-problem twice
Permalink

You think? It's always a shame these "business" people don't know how to do business. My best dealing was with a landscape contractor who did not ask for any deposit up front, I didn't argue as I figure I have the upper hand when I still have my money. At the end I was very happy and asked him why everybody else wanted 30-50% deposit and he didn't? His answer was very profound, he said "I want my customer to be so happy after the job is done that they would WANT to pay me".I then asked if he ever had ever been stiffed, he said in 25 years one person declared bankrupcy on him and didn't pay, and another woman claimed the work wasn't done right even after he had "fixed" the non-problem twice, he finally sent her back a cheque for the full amount of the job and with an apology letter that he "regret" that he couldn't meet her expectation.Guess what, the woman was so embarassed that she sent the cheque back to him to say that actually he did a wonderful job.Why couldn't all business treat their customers like this?
