IF I were you I'd really go take off the covers first and see what you can do about it. This really does look like a simple job - not for a backyard mechanic, maybe more for a 9 year old. I went down and snapped some pics with the plastic covers on and off, they are on each side of the car and each one is only held on by one screw. After that, there are 2 bolts of each side and it looks like the glass would seriously come off just like that. Don't mind the missing grab handle - headroom issues
