I agree. Several years ago, a coworker who worked at a different out-of-state office flew in to our office for a week and got a Chevrolet Cavalier as a rental. A bunch of us went out to lunch and he drove. I sat in the back. When I tried to get out, I pulled on the door handle and it wouldn't open. I didn't realize the child safely lock was enabled, so I pulled on it harder and heard/felt a SNAP. My coworkers then realized what I was trying to do, and when they tried to open the door from the outside, they couldn't! What happened was that door mechanism broke (hence the SNAP) and had to climb out the other side of the car. It's little things like this from GM which makes me not want to buy a GM car. I hope they've improved in their newer offerings...
