While we are on the subject of armrest mechanism issues, I was wondering. Does anyone else have a problem with the upper portion of their console not staying down when the lid is opened? I notice that when I lift my lid to get something, the upper portion doesnt say down as I'd like it to if I were getting something out of the top shelf. I notice that there are a few detents along the side of the shelf to hold it down, is this all that secures it or is one side of the front latch supposed to lock in too?
I'm just curious if anyone has run into this problem and came up with a fix since I really dont have the desire to go out in the freezing temps to try and engineer a fix. I'm thinking the latch needs realigned or needs to provide more tension to grab the console to prevent popping up and maybe adding a little something to the detents on the side to further hold it.
