Goodwill repairs aren't "secrets".

Kinda funny..... is the glass half full or half empty??? When GE split the cost with me I was thrilled! I knew they didn't have to do a thing.... When Maytag split the cost with you, you were disappointed. dunno.gif

There's no way to please all of us.... I guess that's what keeps those extended warranty companies in business.

The more complicated the electronics have got, the less reliable they are. Our first VCR lasted 10 years...now we're doing good to make it 12 months. The life expectantcy of fridges used to be 15 years.... now I think it's 5. The way life has gone. I don't think anyone likes it.

Goodwill repairs aren't "secrets". It's just one way to deal with customers. The alternative would be to never fix anything past warranty since extending the warranty is already offered by buying a contract.

Honda extended repairs of amny things that weren't safety items over the years & who knows this may be added later. I doubt it though since the newer ones aren't having the same issues.

We replace gadget after gadget around here.... harddrives seem to last just past warranty, & toys of all sorts. Sometimes I'll try to ask the company for help, other times I won't bother. When I've asked, in general I've been accomodated in some way, even if it's discount on the next one.

I see this issue as Honda DID do something.... they admitted a problem & replaced them without question under warranty. They also apparently did their part to try to keep it from effecting future ones. They have offered replacements at a discount. Plus offer an extended warranty for things like this..... dunno.gif
