file a complaint in PAPER form with honda

point being, the car is out of warranty~try all of your options if you want it replaced free or reduced charge. yes, it would be terrific if honda would agree to fix it or replace it for a smaller than full fee price. but they are under no obligation to do so at this point. i dont care how many cases there are, but if the car is out of warranty, the car is out of warranty.

suggestions have been made regarding how to get part of the cost or all of the cost covered without having to go thru the $95 diagnostics. yes, $95 sucks. find another dealership and see what they can do. file a complaint in PAPER form with honda. file one with the manufacturer of the radio as well (not hard to find out who it is). other than airing your grievances about the radio, once the car is out of warranty it can't be expected for anything to be covered under goodwill. it would be a wonderful life if we could get every little nuiscance in everything we own covered whether or not it is still under warranty, but truth of the matter is, 9 times out fo 10 it ain't gonna happen.

take it or leave it, but unless you're willing to do more legwork to see if you can find a dealership who may be more willing to help atleast diagnose it for free or a smaller fee, then you're basically "sol". (and YES there may be dealerships who may very well be more willing to work with you. i've run the gaumut of dealerships and there is a huge difference from one to the next.)

that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.
