They sent me the new part for free!

When my GE washer quit just past warranty, I had to pay for the repairs even thought GE knew the part was going bad in lots of them. They cut me a deal when I called them to repeat what I was told by the tech. We split it 50/50. I felt good that they were willing to go above & beyond.... now ALL of my appliances are GE. Because they're the best? NOPE. I liked the way they stood behind their product.

When we were notified that both our Hondas needed the tranny's oil jet kit put in we made an appointment. Would I never buy another AT? NOPE. They're standing behind their product.

When my old RCA TV quit I called to beg for help in the repair since it was out of warranty. They sent me the new part for free! For years I bought RCAs.

The point is Honda is standing behind their product.... but no one does indefinately! If they did, they'd still be doing free timing belts on '85 Accords, & the oil ring tensioner thing on '95's. At some point, whether it's time or miles, they have to draw a line. For this non safety thing, it's the 3 year/36K. But before you claim they "knew" & didn't do anything remember that there's a bunch of people that did have their's replaced.

I don't know what you do for a living, but I doubt if you do it for free. Who do you think pays for warranty repairs? It's not something magical that just appears. Every part costs money. That cost filters down to the overall cost of the NEXT car. So we are paying for all those 6th gen trannies now.

Honda takes safety seriously. Not because of the fear of lawsuits, but that's they way they want to be. The safety recalls have NEVER been forced on them by the government like other brands.

Parts break. They wear out. It's just a machine!

How many miles do you have on you '03 with the non working audio display?
