cars break. cars are mass produced. MOST things that do fail, will fail on many of the cars of the particular model at one time or another. If manufacturers took responsibility like some people think they shoud, they would have to hike up the price of new cars significantly to offset the new "never ending" warranty on certain things. if you don't want to pay for any repairs past warranty, get an extended warranty. you have that option.
