You never have to get anything diagnosed by them.... you can go & say replace THIS part. In this case, "replace the radio with refurbished". The part has the same warranty as it would if THEY decided to replace it. Lots of people are "sure" they know what's wrong & just have parts replaced. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong. This one is pretty cut & dry though.
