But it's NOT a minor repair! It's the whole audio system! It's tied into the climate control & all the things you aren't able to read on the screen. They can't just replace a bulb... they HAVE to replace the whole thing. It's not even made by Honda. So I guess it's Alpine or whoever made the box's fault....

Most dealers charge 30 minutes for diagnostic time. For a bulletin item this may get waved, but it's not like it gets obsorbed somehow... it gets cut off the tech's time, which means less pay for him.
