What I really like about Hondas has little to do with styling, although that does play a part. I think the gen 8 coupe is great. The first coupe I can see myself in because it isn't a cut off sedan.
I have a gen 7 sedan that I bought instead of an Acura TL because it is well put together, uses unleaded regular gas, goes fast when needed and gets great gas mileage - way better in the city than I expected. It has many of the features of the TL without the added expense. It handles better now with Eagle ResponsEdge tires but I've had no maintenance issues and the only rattles I get are from cd cases in the door containers. I keep telling my wife to put them in the center container but she won't listen. I keep getting dealer coupons for oil changes and alignments at just the time I need them and I'm really happy with the regular service I'm getting.
So before everyone gets too bent with styling issues, consider the other virtues. Personally I like the 2007 sedan better than the 08, but I keep my cars for longer than most so I can wait until they come out with another body style before I have to make that choice again. My wife thought the 04 was a bit ugly when I first put it in the garage but after driving it she loves it. When her 97 Aerostar gets to 175,000 she wants a CR-V anyway. In the holiday spirit of the original poster, that delightful trainchaser, Merry Christmas to all!!
